The UAPL theory test is a requirement for obtaining an Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) in Singapore. You are required to pass the theory test prior to practical assessment.

It is not mandatory but you are encouraged to complete a training course with any approved UA Training and Assessment Organisations (UATO) to acquire the relevant theoretical knowledge.

You need to achieve a minimum of 75% test score to pass.

The duration is 1.5 hours.

You will not be allowed to attempt the UAPL practical assessment. Passing the UAPL theory test is a prerequisite.

Yes, you are allowed 2 test attempts within a period of one month.

The fee is S$125 for each test or re-test.

A pass in the theory test is valid for 24 months.

If it is your first attempt, create a CAPELS account to obtain the CAPELS PID number. It is required for the theory test and practical assessment identification purposes.

No refunds will be given for a cancelled theory test or for a no-show. Refer to the cancellation policy at Studyworks.

UAPL theory test will be conducted at CAAS Examination Centre – 60 Airport Boulevard, Changi Airport Terminal 2, Unit #B1/63-64, Singapore 819643.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be allowed entry into the test centre, and your test fee may be forfeited.
  • You must be properly attired to be allowed entry into the examination centre. Collarless T-shirt, singlet, shorts, slippers, sandals, or non-covered shoes are not allowed.
  • No mobile phones, earpieces, headphones, smart watches and other electronic gadgets.
  • Bring the correct identification such as your Singapore NRIC, Military SAF 11B or Passport as well as a printout of your booking confirmation.
  • You will be assigned a space to place your personal belongings.
  • If you have brought electronic devices or unauthorised materials, you may deposit them in the shelves provided before proceeding to your exam workstation.
